Lounge Lizard Monday Kicks Off in March with 10 Cane Rum

Relax and be a Bentley’s Grill Lounge Lizard every Monday in downtown Salem  this Spring. Each Monday- we serve up 2 new cocktail specials with a featured liquor along with happy hour appetizers- and complimentary promotion merchandise (while supplies last) from 4-6 in our Lounge.  Now- you can network and meet other Lounge Lizards on the Bentleys Grill Facebook Page.

Warm up in our Lounge this Monday with tastes of the Caribbean Islands made from 10 Cane Rum.  10 Cane is a luxury rum created from the first pressing of virgin Trinidadian sugar cane. It is crafted by the experts at Moët Hennessy and considered one of the smoothest tasting rums around.

Baileys Irish Cream is Next Week’s Featured Liquor on Lounge Lizard Monday

Need an excuse to celebrate St. Patty’s Day early?  The one and only Baileys Irish Cream is the Lounge Lizard featured liquor next Monday, February 22!   Nothing like some Baileys to bring on some luck of the Irish and to get us thinking about the upcoming Irish Holiday (March 17 to be exact!)….so don your favorite green duds; learn the lyrics to Danny Boy and come out to mingle with the other Lounge Lizards as we bring on an early St. Patty’s Day for Salem’s happiest happy hour.

I got the information for you about the wine keeper that we use for our premium wines by the glass. The website for the company is www.winekeeper.com. We have 2 of the Sonomas in the restaurant. Ciroc VodkaThis week’s Lounge Lizard Monday at Bentley’s Grill; one of Salem Oregon’s favorite happy hours, will be featuring  CÎROC Vodka!  This ultra-premium vodka is made from Mauzac Blanc and Ugni Blanc grapes, grown in the historic Gaillac and Cognac regions of France utilizing techniques similar to wine making to give it a distinct and smooth flavor taste.  We love Ciroc Vodka because it mixes so well in cocktails and brings out the natural flavors in the other ingredients.

Did you know Bushmills  Irish Whiskey is over 400 years old? Yes- they are Ireland’s oldest working distillery and will celebrated their 402nd birthday next month .  Here is some history:

In 1608 King James I granted Sir Thomas Phillips a royal licence to distil ‘uisce beatha’, the gaelic for ‘water of life’, or whiskey as we know it today, in ‘the territory of the Rowte’ in Co. Antrim. This is the first official recorded evidence of whiskey-making in the area that was to become Bushmills.

The first recorded reference to the Old Bushmills Distillery is in 1743. At the time it was “in the hands of smugglers”, according to Victorian whisky journalist Alfred Barnard.

In 1784 the Old Bushmills Distillery is officially registered as a company and the pot still becomes its trademark.

In 1890 S.S. Bushmills, the distillery’s own steamship, makes its maiden voyage across the Atlantic to deliver Bushmills whiskey to America. It calls at Philadelphia and New York before heading on to Singapore, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Yokohama…..and their fine traditional Irish Whiskey is still enjoyed today…

For those not familiar with Lounge Lizard Monday; we have  a weekly tradition in our Lounge from 4-6 each Monday when our staff creates 2 delicious new cocktails made with our featured liquor for very happy prices.
