With the recent addition of Bentley’s “Wednesday Wine Tastings” (held on the 2nd & 4th Wednesday of each month), I wanted to highlight a lesser known winery that we will be featuring on Wednesday August 28, 2013: Mia Sonatina Cellars.
They are known for producing wines that are “A Song for the Palate”. Produced in an “Old World” European style their red wines are dark in color, smooth, and rich in flavor from a minimum 2 years aged in Oak. Their white wines are produced with yeasts to bring out the full flavors of the grape with light filtration to preserve those flavors.
With production around 1200 cases each year and a wide range of varietals and blends, the production of each wine is small, right around 100 cases of each. Their goal is to produce hand crafted wines with balance between structure, acidity and flavor. Another goal is to produce wines of unique character. These goal become reality during production, yeast selections and varietal blending.
Make sure to put Aug. 28th on your calendar and stop in for happy hour/ladies night and tastes some great wines while you’re at it!
Read what others have to say:
Jo and Vern Spencer are two of the most down to earth, hospitable people you will encounter, their winery Mia Sonatina Cellars is a young operation having only been in production since 2007. The name and winery are represented by a music theme which translates through the wines they make…….One thing I feel separates Mia Sonatina from other wineries is their philosophy, as they seek to create very balanced wines. –Dan P. on Yelp.com
