September is Hunger Action Month and we are proud to join the Salem Convention Center and other local restaurants, caterers, brewers and vintners to fight hunger in Marion and Polk counties later this month.
Bonaventure of Salem Chefs’ Nite Out is a culinary fundraiser that benefits Marion-Polk Food Share. The event, now in its 14th year, will be at the Salem Convention Center on Sunday, September 30, 2012 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
“Restaurateurs give of their time and talent to showcase creative bites while you and I roam from one booth to the next in search of these tasty tidbits. All proceeds support the work of MPFS, the center of food distribution for needy families for miles around. The Food Share is more than a distribution center, though; it’s an educational site, teaching young mothers and others how to healthfully economize, take advantage of community gardens, and better care for families. Taking this proactive holistic approach teaching these life skills is tantamount in conquering our hunger problem.” – Honorary Chair, Gerry Frank
Tickets for this unforgettable culinary feast are $75 per person and includes music by Mark Seymour and Orvil Ivie, local wine, craft beer, and dishes like:
Marion-Polk Food Share (MPFS) is the nonprofit regional food bank providing the bulk of the emergency food given out to hungry area residents through our network of over 98 direct-service charities located throughout Marion and Polk counties.
