Class of 2019, it’s not too late to book your graduation party! Call our Events Coordinator at 503-779-1413 for details.
Graduation Season is here! Whether that means graduating from high school or college, it calls for a celebration! Regardless of the size, date, or the theme of your party by following these quick tips to plan a special day that you’ll remember for years to come.
Step One: Create a Guest List
Determining the number of guests at your graduation party is a critical piece of information and should be done as soon as possible. This determines just about every detail of your event! Once you are closer to the date of the event, you’ll want an accurate headcount so you can work out the logistics with the event venue event space and have the menu prepared.
Step Two: Find the Perfect Venue
Picking the right venue for your graduation party is a must. It needs to offer enough room for all your guests to move around comfortably so they may socialize and congratulate the guest of honor. Bentley’s Grill offers several private dining room options to accommodate a range of party sizes. Visit our Special Events page to find which room best fits your party.
Step Three: Send “Save the Dates” & Invitations
Once you book your event, it’s time to get the word out! Let’s face it, this time of the year is absolutely packed full of events, celebrations, and most importantly competing graduation parties. Send out “Save the Date” invites to your guests as soon as possible! A few weeks before the actual event you should send out invitations with the relevant info (time, place, date, etc).
Step Four: Plan the Menu
Set your special event apart with an unbeatable menu. The Bentley’s Grill event staff will work with you to create a fantastic menu befitting of your party. Read what some of our recent guests have said about the service and food at Bentley’s:
“Always enjoy going to Bentley’s great service, great atmosphere, great food and drinks. Lots of fun, highly recommend ☺” Clinton C. on Google
“Classy atmosphere” “It’s nice to find such a classy place in Salem! Parking underneath was a breeze & made for easy access to the restaurant! Like many restaurants of this class, the menu is limited, but it does offer enough to keep everyone happy. Our group ordered the calamari, the crab cakes, & the mushrooms as starters & enjoyed all of them! I had the scampi for dinner & it was good as well. The creme brulee that I had for dessert was perfect! The atmosphere was delightful & we did not feel rushed at all, which is nice when you are celebrating a birthday & enjoying a meal with people you don’t get to see all the time!” – Heather P. TripAdvisor
“Amazing service and skilled bartenders! Ethan and Ryan were friendly, knowledgeable and fun. They knew their stuff and had great recommendations. Nice dinner experience (ahi tuna) and best key lime pie martini for dessert. Looking forward to my next business trip to visit Ethan for a replay.” – Liz C. on Yelp
“We went to Bentley’s for the anniversary of our engagement, 35 years ago. I made the reservations through the app, Opentable. (which I did not have, but downloaded) I then ordered flowers to be delivered to the restaurant. The staff at Bentley’s had the flowers at our table when they seated us. Our server, Baley, was just perfect. Baley visited with us and made us feel comfortable, without hovering. We had issues with our steaks being cooked like we had ordered, but they took care of it without any questions or making us feel bad. The manager, Meg, brought out my wife’s filet mignon after it had been recooked and told her the steak was on them. I have a dairy allergy and Baley made sure I didn’t get something with dairy in the cooking process. We each ordered a dessert, which was heavenly. The evening was very relaxing and we had a wonderful time visiting.” -Rod D. OpenTable
Step Four: Arrange for Photos to be Taken
Graduation is no small feat and certainly something you’ll want to remember and share for years to come. Consider having someone taking photos of the event. They don’t have to be professional, it can be as simple as having someone with an iPhone, just ensure someone is snapping some pictures. There’s nothing as grating as organizing an incredible event and being left without a single photo to prove it.
Step Five: Prepare a “Thank You For Coming” Paty Favor for Guests
Though this is certainly not a necessity, a small “thank you for coming” gift-bag can be a nice inexpensive touch to set your party apart from the rest. This can be as simple as a bottle of water, some candies, mints, or a thank you note.
Most important of all is to have a great time at your party and share that special day with the graduates. If you decide to book your party with us we’ll be doing our part to ensure you’ll be doing just that. Please contact our special events coordinator at 503-779-1413 to book your graduation party soon!
