Holiday Party Planning Tips
Bentley’s Grill will take care of the hard part of the party so you can focus on socializing and having a good time. To that end, here are some tips that’ll make your life even easier and guarantee your party be a hit.
Set The Date
The holiday season’s a busy time, you’ll want to set the date as soon as you can. You can even send out a communication to get an idea of a preferred date from your guests (such as lunch versus dinner, weekday versus weekend) and from there go with the majority.
Finalize Your Guest List
4-6 weeks before your party, you should make a list of who is coming to the event. Not only will this help come time to book the event space but it will help you determine if any guests have special dietary needs.
Send out invitations early
People’s calendars start filling up quickly in the holidays. Aim to send your invitations at least a month in advance to guarantee you’ll have guests. Include an RSVP element to your invitations to accurately track your guest numbers.
Pick Your Music
Unless you’re planning to have a DJ, consider making a playlist ahead of time. With Spotify, Google Play Music, Pandora, and iTunes, this is easier than ever before.
This could depend on the type of gathering you’re planning, but some holiday parties are known for having humorous/fun activities such as white elephant gift exchanges, secret santa, ugly sweater contests, and so on. Of course, there’s nothing worse than a party forcing an activity on a group that is content to be socializing with one another, so you must consider your audience before planning mandatory activities.
Hire A Photographer
Sure, everybody will have their smartphones out and be taking pictures, but you still can’t beat the quality of a professional photographer with professional equipment (sorry Instagram).
Make Goody Bags
It’s the holidays! Treat your guests with goodie bags to take home. It can be anything from chocolate to wine to any other treats that are appropriate for the group.
Even though we’re located in the heart of downtown Salem, you and your guests may be coming from a greater distance. By hiring a van for the evening you can ensure your guests get to and from the party to a convenient drop off point without dealing with long wait times or uber surcharges.
With all those tips in mind, you’re bound to have the best holiday party your guests have attended. But don’t wait too long, the holiday season is busy and we fill up fast! For questions and space reservations, please contact Soraida Cross at 503-779-1413 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
