Believe it or not, I’m going to jail and I need your help. While it’s not a real jail, it’s even more important as I’m raising bail to help children and adults with muscle disease in my community who are supported by the vital work of the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA).
– Soraida Cross, Special Events Coordinator for Bentley’s Grill & The Salem Convention Center
Our own Soraida Cross, Special Events Coordinator for Bentley’s Grill and the Salem Convention Center, is doing time!! But it’s not what you think. She has committed to being a “Jailbird” in the 2014 Salem Lock-Up benefiting Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Soraida has until September 18,2014 to post “bail” of $2,400 for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. If she doesn’t make it, we just don’t know what we will do! Who else is going to plan your rehearsal dinners, reunions, birthday parties and more?
So please help us keep Soraida out of MDA “jail” and help her raise bail! Donations can be made securely on Soraida’s page, and are tax deductible. Give whatever you can, no amount is too small. You can also help by sharing this link with your friends and family.
All funds raised by the MDA Lock-Up assist the Association in providing lifesaving research, a nationwide network of medical clinics and accessible summer camp experiences to individuals and families affected by neuromuscular diseases. This is critical work, and together we can make a difference!
About MDA Lock-Up
The Lock-Up is the Muscular Dystrophy Association’s premier fundraising program. These high-profile events occur all across the country at various times throughout the year. Business and community leaders agree to be “put behind bars for good,” where they utilize use their vendors, co-workers, family and friends to get donations that will go toward their “bail.” Each Jailbird has weeks to raise their donations. That way, on the day of the Lock-Up event, they can enjoy the Lock-Up experience by networking with other business leaders and meeting with the individuals and families that they’re helping in their community.
