It’s no secret we take our recycling very seriously around here. Since opening our doors in 2005, Bentley’s Grill has been committed to environmentally friendly business practices, and we are proud to announce Bentley’s Grill has completed Travel Oregon’s Sustainable Business Challenge!
The Sustainable Business Challenge is a voluntary reporting program that quantifies and qualifies the commitment of tourism and hospitality organizations to running sustainable and environmentally responsible operations. All tourism-related organizations are eligible to participate.
To participate, an organization must show how they measure up to the Global Sustainable Tourism Criteria (GSTC) — a global standard for sustainable tourism.
This is not the first time Bentley’s Grill has received recognition for our sustainable practices which include:
- Placing appropriate containers for recycling in as many locations as possible
- Teaching all employees the current standings of what is and what is not recyclable.
- Recycling plastic items, plastic wrap/bags, paper, newspapers, cardboard, Styrofoam, tin, metal, light bulbs, batteries, ink cartridges, milk lids, plastic ware, straws, stir sticks, key cards, old CD’s, key cards,
- Our staff recycles or composts food waste, each“ticket” produced, straw used, bottle emptied, bottle cap finished, napkin used, and cork removed.
We were among first restaurants in Salem and Marion County to be recognized for our eco-friendly practices by becoming EarthWISE certified through Marion County’s EarthWISE program and have been featured in a number of articles and commercials.
